Beyond the base-case return
Many feasibility studies begin with a desired project and produce projections that validate it. A credible study begins with the decision criteria and tests whether market demand, pricing, delivery capacity and financing can support the investment.
Evidence and assumptions
Every material assumption should have a source, owner and validation status. Management estimates, market evidence and technical adviser inputs should not be blended together without distinction.
Funding and risk
Lenders focus on the source and timing of repayment, covenant headroom, security and the allocation of construction, demand and operating risks. Downside cases should identify when additional equity or support becomes necessary.
A decision document
The final report should make the critical dependencies visible and state what must be resolved before procurement, financing or final investment approval. Bankability is a decision standard—not a marketing label.
